The 85th Annual Academy Awards airs live on ABC Feb. 24 at 7 p.m. ET and before the stars make their way into the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood they will walk the red carpet, which fans can watch via a live online stream. The Associated Press provides full coverage of the red carpet at the Oscars. Emmy and Tony award-winning actress Kristin Chenoweth, Entertainment Weekly Managing Editor Jess Cagle, Grammy-winning singer Kelly Rowland and Good Morning America anchor Lara Spencer will host The Oscars Red Carpet Live, the Academy announced earlier in the month. The red carpet will begin at 7 p.m. ET and will be televised in more than 225 countries worldwide. Watch Oscars 2013 live stream undefined Watch Oscar 2013 LIVE The 85th Annual Academy Awards live Time: Feb. 24 at 7 p.m. ET status:LIVE The special cameras include the Thank You Cam, where winners have an additional opportunity to thank their supporters, the Control Room Cam to watch the show’s director, the Backstage Cam that will record all behind-the-scenes footage and the Press Room Cam. The last camera will feature Oscar winners interacting with the media moments after they leave the stage with their awards. There are 24 categories where screenwriters, directors, actors and more will have a chance to win a coveted Academy Award. Some 2011 Oscar winners will be presenting at the award show, including Jean Dujardin, Christopher Plummer, Octavia Spencer and Meryl Streep. On the final day of our Oscar preview, A&E Buzz takes a look at tonight’s telecast, who’s predicted to win and what to expect and dread on the red carpet. The host: Seth MacFarlane might be the hardest working man in show business. He’s spent months getting ready to host tonight’s Academy Awards, where he’s also a nominee for the original song for his hit movie “Ted.” He’s producing and writing three animated TV shows, plus voicing many of their key characters. “I’m a little exhausted,” the 39-year-old confessed in a recent interview. The Producers: Academy Awards producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron have run out of rehearsal space. Dressing rooms, too. The award-winning production duo is planning the most performance-filled Oscar show ever. They promise a “wow moment” in each of its 13 acts, so the show demands a more dynamic stage and more dressing rooms and rehearsal time than previous Oscar productions. The presenters: Jennifer Garner, Jane Fonda, Kristen Stewart and Kerry Washington are some of the latest names added to the list. The Hollywood Reporter The speeches: A study of Oscars speeches over the past 60 years has revealed Harvey Weinstein is the person who has been thanked most with a total of 12 mentions – more than God. Daily Mail Trophy help: You know those tall, leggy beauties that normally carry the Oscar trophies so the stars can present them? They’ve been replaced this year by aspiring filmmakers. Six college students from across the country won a contest to help present the Oscar statuettes this year. Predictions: Surprises and snubs on nominations day held the promise of an unpredictable Academy Awards night. But things have settled into the usual predictability, with clear favorites emerging in key categories. Associated Press movie writers Christy Lemire and David Germain prefer to disagree, but they’re in harmony on the top prizes for tonight’s show. • Find out the latest odds and see a wide array of experts offer their picks. Gold Derby Ballots: On the eve of Oscar voting, we asked three academy members to let us peek at their ballots and tell us, anonymously, who they’re voting for and why. Los Angeles Times Style preview: In the fashion world, the Oscars hit at an opportune time: Just before prom and wedding seasons kick in. So it’s no surprise that the dresses paraded on the red carpet have an effect on what twirls across the gym floor and down the church aisle. But this year, the Oscar Effect will reach even more wardrobes, those of young girls and older women, as the youngest- and oldest-ever best actress nominees, Quvenzhane Wallis and Emmanuelle Riva, vie for the trophy — and inject freshness into two wedges of the formal wear market that are woefully lacking, or so stylists, designers and editors hope. USA Today Fashion disasters: Over a generation, citizens of popular culture have watched as a fundamental source of pleasure has vanished from view: the red-carpet fashion “disaster.” So this list is a look back at a mostly extinct phenomenon, and like any endeavor tinged with grief, it is highly subjective and slightly irrational.
